Dandelion

Dandelion is a cloud-based graphical language workbench. It is built for low-code development platforms (LCPDs), and it follows a Model-driven Engineering (MDE) approach.

Motivation

There is an increasing demand nowadays for low-code development platforms (LCDPs). As they rely heavily on graphical languages rather than writing code, these platforms enable citizen developers to participate in software development. However, existing platforms suffer from reduced scalability and technological heterogeneity support.

Particularities

Scalability is addressed by persisting models in a unifying cloud database and with the introduction of a customisable scalability component for lazy model loading. The tool handles model heterogeneity using a technology-neutral meta-model to represent uniformly models created using diverse technologies.
